Rev. James Blair

BIO FOR REVEREND JAMES A. BLAIR

After completing his studies at Harvard Divinity School, Rev. Jim was ordained to the Christian Ministry by the First Church of Christ, Unitarian, in Lancaster, Massachusetts in June of 1986.  He served historic Universalist Christian Churches in rural North Carolina, in Washington, DC and in Burrillville, RI.  He was active in the Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship and served on the Council of Christian Churches within the UUA.
In 2002, his ordination was recognized by Bishop Susan Hassinger of the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church, and in 2010 he received Full Connection as a Elder in the Conference.
Before being appointed to the Exeter UMC, he served United Methodist Churches in Ellington, CT, Fall River, MA, and most recently in North Attleboro and Plainville, MA.
In 1987 he married the Rev. Rebecca Blair, and together they have three grown children: Matthew, Eleanor, and Eric.
Rev. Blair is no stranger to the Seacoast area.  His parents, the late Jim and Laurie Blair, moved to Exeter from the Chicago area in 1977, and Rev. Jim himself lived in the early 80's in Portsmouth where he was active in the theater arts community.
"Rev. Jim enjoys a good game of Scrabble, his preferred form of exercise is the bicycle, and he loves bluegrass gospel music."

Rev. Blair began his ministry at Exeter UMC on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
The worship service is at 9:30 am and all are welcome to join us
